Hi Lake Warden Catchment readers. It’s been a while since I have updated you on what has been happening in your region. The exciting tree planting season kept me busy beyond my wildest dreams. I would like to inform you all that with all your kind help, I have managed to put over 300 hectares of native vegetation into our catchment. I would like to thank our growers and planters for doing such a fine job, and with the early rains we had through winter, hopefully this will suffice to see them through this dry spring. Let’s keep our fingers crossed! Currently I am signing off perennial pastures in the Lake Warden Catchment; with over 2000 hectares contracted I am only one third through this tedious process. I hope to see you growers soon. Thank you to all the lovely people that caught up with me at the Esperance Ag Show this year, another huge success with lots of visitors taking home some seedlings. Projects like this don’t succeed without your cooperation! Thank you also to the team from EverGraze who recently held field walks in the catchment; our landholders were kind enough to allow us to walk their paddocks and observe some very innovative ideas that are happening in the world of perennial pastures.
