Feral Pest Control - working together for maximum impactDamage caused by feral animals to our native species such as plovers, bush turkeys, small Australian mammals and Cape Barron geese is well known and documented. So too is the damage feral animals do to our farm land and farm animals. Rabbits, foxes, wild cats and wild dogs are damaging our land and native and farm animals, however responsible and ongoing pest control is going a long way towards protecting our wildlife and farmer’s livelihoods. In previous years, the Red Card for the Red Fox program, which focuses on the coordination of farmer’s efforts to bait and shoot foxes and rabbits on their properties to control pest numbers, has proved successful. As well, continuing with the 1080 baiting programme is essential for there to be a real impact on decreasing numbers.Registration forms for the community fox shoot, the 1080 DAFWA baiting program and a recording template can be found on our website. You will find these forms in the Documents section by clicking on Projects and then community engagement, alternatively you can hold down the control key and click on the following link:- http://www.esperanceregionalforum.org.au/documents/category/5-community-engagement.html
