2010 tree planting season underway PDF Print E-mail

schooljun10 Rain has brought hope to landholders although has made to too wet in many areas to finish seeding but ok for planting this years native revegetation.

Cindee and Robyn have been busy organising school outings with local schools and together the children have now planted some 2,800 seedlings in high priority sites.

It’s a great opportunity for the children to learn about what’s happening in their own back yard and as the land managers of tomorrow its helps them understand what we can all do to support improvements to our local environment.

Hopefully everyone is busy getting their sites and are contacting the team to organise their tree order.

It’s a huge program this year with the excess tree stock from the Stokes Project going into Lake Warden.  We hope to achieve some 260hectares going in this seasons. Which is a impressive efforts everyone involved can be proud of. With such wet start to the season we hope that as with the pastures and crops the trees get off to a solid start.

Keep up the good work team, together we can make a difference.
